McCormick brand spice bottles are generally the same size and hold the same amount of spice as Chef Caddy bottles, while Whole Foods and Penzy brand spice bottles are generally larger and contain an ounce or so more spice that our bottles hold. We recommend that you always transfer spices into the Chef Caddy bottles, rather than replacing the bottles with new one from the store. This will maintain the uniform look of the caddies and ensure that the caps and limiters fit as snuggly as they should.
The glass bottles are dishwasher safe. Everything else should be wiped clean with a sponge or paper towel.
Sunlight and humidity are two main drivers of spices losing their potency, clumping, and even going rancid. Chef Caddy combats these two culprits. The caddies themselves shield the glass bottles from the light, while tight-fitting caps lock out moisture to seal in flavor.
